Explore the science behind cold-based body contouring and learn how Beauty by Fox approaches Cryo T-Shock treatments, cryo facials, and localized America Cryo CO₂ applications.

Clear information. Individual goals. Personalized treatment planning.

    What Is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy means using cold for a particular purpose. In a cosmetic setting, localized cooling may be used as part of a body contouring or facial treatment. In rehabilitation settings, cold is also used to help manage discomfort.

These applications have different goals. Cooling for muscle comfort, facial skin appearance, and fat reduction should not be treated as the same process.

At Beauty by Fox, Cryo T-Shock and America Cryo CO₂ are separate treatment systems. Understanding how each delivers temperature changes helps you ask better questions and make an informed decision.

    Understanding Your Body Contouring Goal

A change in body shape or skin appearance can involve several different factors. We begin by identifying the concern you want to address.

    Localized Fat

Subcutaneous fat sits beneath the skin. A body contouring consultation may focus on a specific area, such as the midsection or thighs. Localized contouring is different from overall weight loss.

    Skin Texture and Laxity

Cellulite and loose skin are different from excess fat. Improving the appearance of a treatment area does not necessarily mean that fat cells have been removed.

    Facial Fullness and Puffiness

Under-chin fullness can involve fat, skin laxity, or anatomy. Temporary puffiness involves fluid and can change independently of fat reduction.

How Does Cryo T-Shock Use Heat and Cold?

Cryo T-Shock uses a handheld applicator to deliver controlled warming and cooling to a selected area. These alternating temperature changes are called thermal contrast, or thermal shock. At Beauty by Fox, we use this approach for body contouring treatments around the midsection and thighs. Here's what those temperature changes mean for your body.

The Warm Phase: How Tissue Responds to Heat

The applicator delivers warmth to the treatment area as part of the selected protocol. Warming can widen small blood vessels near the skin's surface—a response called vasodilation. The warm phase creates a temperature contrast with the cooling phase; it does not simply melt fat.

The Cold Phase: The Science Behind Cooling

The applicator draws heat away from the treatment area. Cooling can narrow small blood vessels, a response called vasoconstriction. In established cryolipolysis, sufficient controlled cooling can also injure susceptible fat cells and trigger a gradual cellular response. The temperature reached within the tissue and the length of exposure matter—not just how cold the applicator feels.

After Treatment: Understanding the Body's Response

When a fat-reduction treatment causes fat-cell injury, immune cells gradually break down and process the affected tissue. The lymphatic system participates in fluid transport and immune function; whole fat cells do not drain away immediately. This established cryolipolysis mechanism does not, by itself, prove the same outcome for every Cryo T-Shock protocol. We assess your response over time and distinguish changes in skin appearance or fluid balance from lasting contour changes.

What Happens to Affected Fat Cells?

In established cryolipolysis, the process unfolds gradually rather than removing fat immediately.

    01

    Controlled Tissue Cooling

The treatment applies cooling using a defined protocol. Temperature, time, and the tissue being treated influence the response.

    02

    A Gradual Cellular Response

Susceptible fat cells can be injured by sufficient controlled cooling. An inflammatory response develops as the body begins processing affected tissue.

    03

    Immune-System Clearance

Immune cells, including macrophages, help break down and clear affected cells and cellular material. This is an active biological process rather than an instant drainage event.

    04

    Assessment Over Time

Changes in contour are evaluated over time. The FDA describes clearance after established cryolipolysis as generally occurring over two to three months. This is scientific background, not a promised timeline for every device offered at Beauty by Fox.

What Role Does the Lymphatic System Play?

The lymphatic system helps transport fluid and material from tissues back toward the circulation and participates in immune function. It is part of the body's normal processing network.

Whole fat cells do not simply flow through lymph vessels and leave the body immediately. Affected tissue is broken down and processed through immune and metabolic pathways.

Avoid describing the process as "flushing toxins," "melting fat," or washing fat out by drinking extra water.

Cryo T-Shock: Controlled Heating and Cooling

Cryo T-Shock uses a handheld applicator that delivers controlled heating and cooling to selected treatment areas. At Beauty by Fox, we use this technology for body contouring treatments involving areas such as the midsection, thighs, and under-chin fullness, as well as our separate Cryo Facial service for facial and neck appearance concerns.

During your consultation, we discuss your aesthetic goals, the area being treated, and your individual suitability.

    What Is Cryo T-Shock?

A handheld applicator alternates controlled warming and cooling in a selected area, creating thermal contrast during treatment.

    Why Are Both Temperatures Used?

Warm and cool phases can influence local blood-vessel responses and treatment sensations. Specific cosmetic outcomes depend on the treatment protocol and supporting evidence.

    What Your Consultation Covers

We review your treatment goals, relevant health history, suitability, and how progress will be documented.

Cryo Facials and Under-Chin Treatment Goals

Facial cryotherapy and under-chin treatment require a clear understanding of the cosmetic goal. A refreshed appearance or a change in puffiness is different from reducing localized fat.

Fullness beneath the chin can involve fat, loose skin, or facial anatomy. A consultation helps distinguish these concerns before selecting an approach.

Changes immediately after a facial treatment should not be presented as proof of permanent fat reduction or lasting skin tightening.

Do not assign this service to a specific device until the owner confirms the actual protocol. Do not promise double-chin removal, permanent lifting, or results equivalent to a named medical fat-freezing device.

America Cryo CO₂: Focused Localized Cooling

Our America Cryo device applies cold CO₂ externally to a selected area. This focused application allows localized cooling rather than whole-body exposure.

At Beauty by Fox, we offer this targeted approach for clients seeking temporary comfort around a specific sore or tense area.

    How Cold Can Influence Discomfort

Localized cooling can temporarily influence nerve signaling and pain perception. The experience varies by treatment area and individual sensitivity. Temporary comfort does not establish that injured tissue has healed.

    Muscle Strains and Ankle Sprains

Localized cooling has been studied for musculoskeletal discomfort, but evidence does not establish that this particular treatment repairs tissue or accelerates healing. New or suspected injuries require appropriate clinical assessment.

Localized cooling may provide temporary comfort. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation.

    What Does Treatment Feel Like?

The experience depends on the device, application, treatment area, and individual sensitivity.

    During Cryo T-Shock

You may notice alternating warmth and cold as the handheld applicator moves across the selected area. We explain the application and check your comfort throughout the session.

    During America Cryo CO₂

You may notice a focused cold sensation during the external application. The operator follows the appropriate device protocol and monitors the treatment area.

Tell your practitioner promptly if you experience pain, burning, or unusual discomfort. Non-invasive does not mean risk-free.

    Understanding Results and Their Limits

Appearance Changes Can Have Different Causes

Fluid balance, posture, lighting, and skin appearance can influence photographs or measurements. An immediate change should not automatically be called permanent fat loss.

Body Contouring Is Not Weight Loss

A localized cosmetic treatment is different from reducing overall body weight. It does not treat obesity or replace the health benefits of appropriate nutrition and activity.

    Progress Should Be Documented

Assessment should use consistent conditions and an appropriate follow-up interval. Results vary with the concern, device, protocol, and individual response.

Do not fabricate before-and-after galleries or outcome statistics.

Who Should Discuss Precautions Before Treatment?

Tell us about cold sensitivity, circulation problems, reduced skin sensation, skin conditions at the application site, and relevant medical history before treatment.

Conditions such as Raynaud's disease, cold urticaria, or other cold-related disorders may make cooling unsuitable. Heating phases also require appropriate precautions.

Cold applications can cause skin injury if used improperly. Device-specific contraindications and instructions must be reviewed before a session.

A new injury, significant swelling, persistent pain, or loss of function should be assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.

Keep this section clear and calm. Do not create a definitive eligibility checklist or imply that all cryotherapy devices have identical risks.
